Who is First-8?

Mark Nilsson and Anders Kjærsgaard are real comrades in arms. They met in 2006 as conscripts in the army and have since followed each other as deployed in Kosovo and further at the Army Sergeant's School, before returning to train conscripts in everything from first aid to combat training.

An episode in which a grandfather of one of the conscripts fell over on the castle square with cardiac arrest, but was saved by Anders Kjærsgaard and four conscripts, helped put things into perspective. And the two friends joined forces to found First-8, which today is a nationwide company that teaches first aid and the use of defibrillators and is also a leader in defibrillator sales and service.

The company has taken up the competition with the dominant players on the market and uses certified first aid instructors from the Armed Forces.

We all have a background from the Armed Forces

All our instructors have a background as leaders in the Armed Forces. We have chosen this because we want to ensure that the same values and the same mindset are pervasive in everything we do and do. For us, punctuality, structure and action are a matter of course. We all have practical experience with first aid - often from crisis situations. We know how to adapt to the situation we are in, and we know how to convey a message at eye level.

Our instructors have gone through the best first aid training, and in addition, our first aid experience comes from national and international missions, which provides a high level that both inspires and motivates the students' learning.

We are used to conveying a message at eye level to the needs of the various course participants, and we believe that the best learning is achieved when theory and practice are combined. Our first aid courses are therefore equal parts theory and practical exercises, where the course participants perform various techniques on each other and on our first aid dummies
